  • Dynamic Color Shifts: They provide a noticeable and dramatic color change as the temperature shifts.
  • Easy Application: They are designed to mix easily into all types of clear base coats, binders and other mediums.
  • Versatile Use: They can be used in a variety of applications, from automotive paint to clothing, and more.
  • Low-Temperature Activation: Our thermochromic pigments are designed to change color at 86 degrees F.

Where Can You Use Our Pigments?

Our versatile thermochromic pigments can be used in a wide array of different projects and applications, such as:

  • Custom Automotive Finishes: Use on cars and motorcycles to create a look that changes with the weather or temperature of the engine.
  • Home Decor: Transform furniture, walls, or other home decor items to make them respond to different temperatures.
  • Clothing and Accessories: Create custom clothing, jewelry, and other accessories that change color with body heat or the temperature of the environment.
  • Special Effects: Use to make magical items that change before your audience’s eyes.
  • Innovative Solutions: Research ways to create unique and energy efficient building solutions, like a temperature sensitive roofing system.

Tips for Using Our Blue Thermochromic Pigment

To get the most out of your thermochromic pigments and achieve a long lasting and professional result, consider following these simple steps:

  • Base Coat: Always start with a white or other light color base coat for best results.
  • Mixing: Mix one 25 gram bag of pigment into a pint of reducer, and let it sit for 24 hours.
  • Combine: Mix the reduced pigment with a pint of clear for a sprayable quart.
  • Application: Apply 5-7 coats over your base color for the desired result.
  • Top Coat: Apply 3-4 coats of a quality UV top coat, like Wet Wet Plus clear.

Please keep in mind that our thermochromic paints have a low UV tolerance without the proper protection, so they are NOT RECOMMENDED FOR PROLONGED OUTDOOR USE without a clear coat with UV protection.
